100 days SMARTER!

Yesterday was our 100th day of school! We had SO MUCH fun! We got to visit every class in kindergarten and work on a different activities.

We had to find the numbers 1-100 and mark them on our HUNDRED HOUND DETECTIVE sheet!

We had to roll a dice and color in that many squares. Some of us even made it all the way to 100!

We worked as a team to stack 100 cups!

We had to write 100 words! Some of us used words we found in the classroom, others wrote words we already knew!

We made 100th day hats. We had to color or draw 10 things on each of the 10 strips. That equals 100!

Finally, we enjoyed a 100th day snack. The cookies were in the shape of 100!

The Mitten by: Jan Brett

Today we read the story The Mitten by Jan Brett. After reading the story, we got to make our own mittens. We also made the animals from the story. Ask your student to retell the story using their mitten that came home today!

Questions to ask your student: What were the animals doing in the mitten? How did the animals get out of the mitten? What order did the animals get into the mitten?

Observing Water!

Today we observed water! We used our FIVE SENSES to observe water.

Here is our word web we made about the physical properties of water!

One our friends shared a joke about water!

Why do fish live in salt water?
Because pepper makes them sneeze! :)

Winter Wonderland

We got a new dramatic play center this week! It has an IGLOO made out of milk jugs! We can also go fishing, make hot chocolate, and roast marshmallows by the fire! We like it so much! Our class is looking forward to when it is their turn to play!

Anyone want some s'mores?!

Mapping Land and Water

Today we looked at a globe. We used a globe in our classroom and also Google Earth to see the different parts. We pointed out LAND and WATER.

We worked on our own map to show the parts (LAND and WATER.)

Have your student point where the "COLOR KEY" is and why it is important?
