The Mitten by: Jan Brett

Today we read the story The Mitten by Jan Brett. After reading the story, we got to make our own mittens. We also made the animals from the story. Ask your student to retell the story using their mitten that came home today!

Questions to ask your student: What were the animals doing in the mitten? How did the animals get out of the mitten? What order did the animals get into the mitten?

Today during our Library time, Mrs. Hamilton showed us the Biography section of the library. She taught us about what biographies are and showed us where to find books that "FIT" kindergarten readers. (FIT= Find, Investigate, Try or Trade.)

Wonder of the Day!

Every day, well most days, we visit Wonderopolis.com and learn a little bit about the "wonder of the day." It includes a question for us to discuss, a passage with the answer (that Ms. Holladay reads/paraphrases aloud) and a short video that is related to the topic. Some of our favorites we have had in the past are "When do pigs fly?" and "How do you make a monster?"
